Help Heal, Rebuild, and Empower

Join GRIT in bringing play-based healing and resilience-building to communities across the globe.

At Cultura Connector, we believe in the power of transformative play to help individuals and communities heal from crisis. That’s why we created GRIT — Games for Resilience and Interactive Transformation — a trauma-informed, culturally rooted program using live-action role-play (LARP), design thinking, and community mapping to support recovery and resilience for people of all ages.

From war-affected children such as in Gaza and Ukraine, to communities in California recovering from wildfires and displacement, GRIT meets individuals where they are — offering emotional relief, creative expression, and a path forward.

GRIT operates across three key verticals:

  • Post-crisis Healing for communities affected by war, disaster, or violence
  • Supporting Connection between displaced communities and the communities receiving them
  • Resilience-building for communities facing future crisis and climate disruption

As an example, in Gaza over half of children have contemplated suicide and three in five are self-harming. In Ukraine, 1.5 million children are at risk of PTSD and depression, and over 2,500 have been killed or injured. In California, fire-impacted neighborhoods are struggling with recovery and future climate threats, and over 700.000 children of school age are directly affected. Without safe, creative spaces to process trauma, the emotional and social cost will last for generations.

GRIT offers a new way to heal.

Unlike traditional therapy, GRIT leverages the power of play to engage participants in shared storytelling, helping them process difficult emotions naturally and effectively. Therapists using this model have reported remarkable breakthroughs — achieving in weeks what might otherwise take years.

Why Fund GRIT?

We’re ready to take the first critical steps toward scalable, sustainable, and global impact:

  • Begin launching GRIT in a post-crisis area with a global expansion plan
  • Train local facilitators in each region to lead culturally responsive sessions
  • Support international collaboration to expand access and refine our model

Your support brings this life-changing program to individuals and communities that need it most. Help us lay the foundation for long-term healing, stability, and peace.

Why did we make this directory?

No. 1
Make it as easy as possible for right representation: Organizations need an easily searchable directory for finding cultural advisors
No. 2
Revisit history from more than one perspective: Educators need primary sources of information for all parties involved
No. 3
Preserve cultures and languages: Reporters, authors, researchers, and documentarians can help bring awareness to the challenges facing disappearing cultures
